Meet Your Analyst
I’m a landscape painter and have sold and exhibited beautiful paintings for many years. I've been inspired by the power of color all my life. It was only natural that this color awareness would extend to my own clothing and accessories.
My mother and I had our color charts done in the 1980s. This was the beginning of my love for color analysis. We were amazed at how sensible it was to choose clothing to coordinate with our coloring. So, with charts in hand, we hit the stores, carefully ignoring anything not in line with our charts, and turning away from those tempting items on sale racks. Shopping became a lot easier, and we also avoided costly mistakes.
In 2009, I became a color analyst myself, training with the late Kathryn Kalisz, founder of the Sci/ART Twelve-Tone System of personal color analysis. The Sci/ART system describes eight neutral seasons as well as the original four, which had been popular in the '80s. Having Twelve Tones, or seasons, the Sci/ART method was able to accommodate a much wider range of skin tones.
For ten years, I saw clients in my studio and traveled to do color analysis for groups. I met many new people in Mississippi and neighboring states. Fascinated by the transformative effect of color on my clients, I sought further training with Christine Scaman of 12 Blueprints Color Analysis in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Christine’s intuition about color and her illustration of how specific fabrics, jewelry, and makeup enhance each season were exciting to me. I wanted to bring this new knowledge to my clients.
When I see a client’s eyes light up as the right color is draped across their shoulders, I feel happy, too. This is why I love what I do.
